Change email address for an inbox in Kundo

It is possible to change the email address for an inbox in Kundo Mail e.g. from old@example.com to new@example.com.

To be absolutely sure that you do not lose any emails during the change, use the following steps:

  1. Find out what your new "Customer Email Address" will be. You do this by taking your new email address and replacing @ with a dot and adding @ mail.kundo.se. In the example above, it will be nya.example.com@mail.kundo.se.
  2. Set up a new forwarding for the new address, new@example.com to both the old and the new address, old.example.com@mail.kundo.se
    and new.example.com@mail.kundo.se in the example.
  3. If you want mail to the old address to still end up in the inbox, you must also change the old forwarding to point to both the old and the new address at kundo,
    old.example.com@mail.kundo.se
    and new.example.com@mail.kundo.se in the example.
  4. Once you have confirmed that these forwards are applied in the mail server, you can change the email address in Kundo's settings, under Send and receive -> Receiving email address.
  5. Once you have verified that the email to the new address (new@example.com) works, you can delete the forwarding to the old address on kundo (old.example.com@mail.kundo.se)

The reason why this is a bit of a complicated process is to guarantee that no emails disappear.
